“Food safety depends on social co-governance. This requires our government departments and all members of society to work together and act together to maintain food safety. The outstanding concept of our system is the concept of 'great synergy', which highlights the overall openness of the system. , internal resources sharing, external interconnection," Guo Hui said.
According to reports, Yichang City Food Safety Wisdom Supervision System has been in operation for the first phase in 2016, and has been in operation for three phases this year. Guo Hui pointed out that the more prominent problems in food safety are the heavy regulatory tasks, the complex regulatory objects, the rapid changes in regulatory formats, the lagging regulatory concepts, and limited regulatory tools.
“After the Yichang Smart Food and Drug Supervision System was put into operation in phases, Yichang’s food safety supervision gradually stepped onto the path of machine substitution. The informationization support supervision function gradually changed from extensive supervision to refined supervision, from static supervision to dynamic supervision. The change of industry supervision to system supervision has greatly improved our regulatory efficiency and provided strong information support for Yichang to create the first national food safety demonstration cities.” Guo Hui said.
