At present, 150 counties across the country have basically achieved full mechanization of major crop production, including rice, wheat, corn, potato, rape, soybean, peanut, cotton and other major crop-producing counties. In the future, it will continue to increase policy support for demonstration counties and encourage them to expand to comprehensive mechanization and upgrade to high-quality mechanization. In order to implement the deployment of “Building 500 Full-scale Mechanized Demonstration Counties” in the Outline of the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, the Ministry of Agriculture carried out in-depth mechanization of major crop production throughout the country and launched Model county creation. Recently, based on the self-assessment re-evaluation and spot check verification based on the evaluation index system, the Ministry of Agriculture determined that the second batch of 122 full-scale mechanized demonstration counties had been announced. As of now, 150 counties across the country have basically achieved full mechanization of major crop production, including rice, wheat, corn, potato, rape, soybean, peanut, cotton and other major crop-producing counties. In general, the 150 demonstration counties have high levels of mechanization operations, strong technical support capabilities, and adequate organizational safeguards, which are the benchmarks for the entire process of agricultural production. The comprehensive mechanization rates of the main grain crops and cash crops in the demonstration counties exceeded 90% and 80%, respectively, and the plant protection, straw treatment, and drying and mechanization capacity of the origin reached more than 60%, 80%, and 40%, respectively. The basic realization of the entire process of mechanization has significantly promoted the scale of local agricultural production, reduced costs, and increased efficiency, adding new momentum to the prosperity of the industry and agricultural modernization. The Ministry of Agriculture requires the competent departments of agricultural mechanization at all levels to play a benchmark role in demonstration counties, continue to focus on major crops, key production areas, and short links, and further promote the entire process of mechanization of major crop production. Promote construction through evaluation, and drive more regions to continuously improve the level of mechanization. Continue to increase the policy support of demonstration counties, encourage them to expand to comprehensive mechanization, upgrade to high-quality mechanization, accumulate experience for the transformation and upgrading of agricultural mechanization development across the country, and make new contributions to accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
